Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.” Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time?” (John 14:8-9)
You can hear the disappointment in Jesus’ voice. He’s spent three years in daily mission with his disciples, and some of them still don’t get it, don’t understand that Jesus and our Heavenly Father are one. When we see Jesus, we see the Father.
It hurts to be misunderstood or not to be recognized at all, doesn’t it? I bet you have your stories too.
Yesterday’s reading announced our name change—Ransomed Heart is officially becoming Wild at Heart! We’re doing this because our research (and loads of personal experience) has shown us that Wild at Heart is much more well known and will help us reach a whole lot more folks with this beautiful Gospel!
Ransomed Heart just hasn’t been a helpful name outside our inner circle of friends and allies. We get mail to “Random Hearts,” “Random Parts,” “Rancid Hearts,” and “RanzMed Heart” (those folks think we are a medical company).
The misunderstanding of who we are—and what we offer—is killing us. So, after a good bit of prayer and public research, we decided to end the confusion and make it super clear.
But we are telling you, our friends and allies, first, because we don’t want to confuse you! Our mission and message stay the same. Everything you’ve come to know and love about us stays exactly the same. We are simply employing a widely recognized “brand” name to help us reach far more people! Just as Jesus wanted to reach as many as he possibly could.
